New Moon in Capricorn
January 16th, 2018
26 degrees 54 min
This New Moon in Capricorn is only a couple degrees off from Venus. The reset that this moon provides is centered around relationships. Whether they are professional or personal, this is a time where we are seeking those that we can rely on to be supportive when we need it the most. Stability isn't found in fair weather friends, so the reset may involve letting fickle associations flutter away so that strong bonds can be made in their place.
This particular moon carries a bit more zing to it as it is also square to Uranus in Aries which may have us craving liberation from the planetary pile up in Capricorn that calls for work, work and more work. The best way to handle this is to give yourself time each day to do something that makes you feel free and unencumbered by restrictive duties and responsibilities. It is even better if you can find work that allows for you to be yourself simultaneously.
Venus lightens into Aquarius on the 17th. During the next few weeks she will be bringing our attention to friendships and the relationships that we have with our greater communities. Venus will be attracting many opportunities to collaborate with those around you so long as you are open to experiment and engage in new ways.
Lilith and Mercury are conjunct in early Capricorn. The shadow of this is when you harbor negative thought patterns that result in making excuses for why you can't be successful. You could be suppressing your own abilities by simply just thinking the word "can't". The two would like us to realize that we can achieve mountainous tasks if we put our minds to it and it starts with the thought "can".
The trine between Mars in Scorpio and Chiron in Pisces on the 18th gives us the introspective moment that we need to heal our masculine side. What do you need to let go of so that you can trust yourself to be clear, decisive, and driven to engage in purposeful actions? This transit will help us explore and answer this question.
The quincunx between Mars & Uranus may leave us feeling a tad uncomfortable as we get accustomed to making moves based on the intentions and desires of our newly woke selves . The individuation process that has occured within each of us during Uranus's 7 year passage through Aries is coming to a close. We now must go through with the ultimate transformation of allowing ourselves to finally experience the freedom of being totally authentic and original. To do this is to cut ties with the past and trailblaze passionately ahead into the future.
North Node of the Moon is exactly conjunct Ceres in Leo. The two have been closely involved with one another since mid November, encouraging creativity and self expression. Including artistic pursuits in your daily life will help alleviate some of the stress that results from feeling overwhelmed from all the work that needs to be done.
The Moon moves into Aquarius 17th-19th and is followed by the Sun on the 20th, reinforcing that becoming involved with groups of people that you resonate with in your local community is what will elicit the greatest feelings of personal satisfaction.
After this the Moon drifts into Pisces on the 19th, conjoining with Neptune on 20th and Chiron on the 21st. Giving us a couple meditative and chill days to dream, imagine and restore our energy in time for the First Quarter Square Moon in Taurus on 23rd. Until then ...
